Vespertine – Short Story abstract
A short story part of the “Mr. Nobody” storyline. Timeline-wise, this story is set after The Shadows and after the main storyline’s Epilogue. It is likely to become the final installment of the series.
The meaning of the name Vesper is Evening Star, especially Venus, and evening Prayer.
Vesper hasn’t changed much over the years. In Old English it’s æfen-sang, which sounds a little like “evening song.” In the Christian tradition, vespers are prayer services occurring later in the day, a series of prayers that church officials and believers say together. This word has had several meanings over time, but most are related to evening, which is when the prayers take place.
